Bond of brothers: Suntken, Peña go out state runners-up

DES MOINES – Credit Kendrick Suntken for getting Mario Peña to go back out for wrestling.
The two who describe themselves as ‘just like brothers’ went out the same way on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Wells Fargo Arena, as Class 2A state wrestling runners-up.
Behind the two finalists and Carter Barkema, who reached the state semifinals at 132, the Bulldogs finished eighth in team scoring with 47 team points.
Each were more than emotional after gaining their respective finals’ berth.
“It’s just awesome, ever since freshman and sophomore (year) we’ve been training and we made each other so much better,” Suntken said Friday night....
