Brook Boehmler has won the Hampton mayor's seat in a massive victory over Diane Weldin, winning by a margin of 566 votes to 235.

Boehmler, the former executive director of the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, had a much more vigorous campaign than Weldin, who was previously Hampton's mayor for eight years. Weldin has now lost two consecutive mayoral elections - losing to current Hampton Mayor Shawn Dietz in 2011 by a mere 16 votes.

This year's race wasn't anywhere as close as that 2011 campaign, as Boehmler rode a wave of energy and enthusiasm into office and won by 331 votes.

In the Hampton City Council race, uncontested candidates Dick Lukensmeyer, Jay Hickman, and Jim Davies all won election to the council.
