Barkema reaches 100-win mark

STORY CITY – Hampton-Dumont junior Carter Barkema became the third Bulldog wrestler to reach the 100-win mark this season while at the Roland-Story Norseman Duals on Saturday, Jan. 31.
The 132-pounder followed seniors Kendrick Suntken and Mario Peña to achieve the feat for coach Nick Bretz’s team in 2014-15.
With Suntken out nursing a knee injury, only Barkema and Peña went 5-0 for H-D at the tournament that included matches with Johnston, Roland-Story, Webster City, Saydel and OA-BCIG.
