HAMPTON – A year removed from the Hampton-Dumont girls basketball team’s 19-4 season, much has changed, but the winning has remained the same.

This year, the speedy guard court looks to dominate opposed to a predominant inside presence that led the Bulldogs to a successful season a year ago.

In H-D’s season opener against area foe AGWSR, the Bulldogs left little doubt to the outcome of this game as Jessica Speake finished with a double-double, pouring in 30 points and dishing out 10 assists while her fellow sophomore guard Jordan Prantner added 20 points as the two to outscored the Cougars alone in a 85-46 opening victory on Monday, Dec. 2.

“I was definitely ready,” Speake said of the first game. “I was excited and nervous, but as a team we were definitely ready to bring it and it showed the way we brought it tonight.”
