Auditor will not seek reelection

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:

I am writing this letter to inform you that I will not be running for the Auditor's position in the June Primary and the General Election in 2020.

I have many good memories working for the county for 32 years, and will miss seeing all the people and the many friends I have made throughout the years.

If there is someone out there that would be interested in running for the Auditor's position, they need to file papers to run on the Republican or Democratic ticket in the June Primary. Laws have changed for filing periods, and they are as follows:

Partisan Candidates: Monday, March 2 to Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Non-Partisan and Nominated by Petition: Monday, March 2 to March 20, 2020

This is the current law, and could be subject to change on the Non-Partisan and Nominated by Petition deadline.

Respectfully,

Michelle Giddings,

Franklin County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections
