Representatives from four area churches are teaming together to bring lessons and teachings to people from all walks of life.
On Saturday, June 29, Dows First Lutheran Church will host HOPE Conference 2019, an all day event that includes worship, group study and breakout sessions. The four presenters this year are Rev. Laurel Meester, First Lutheran Church in Dows, Rev. Dan Hanson, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton, Fr. Kevin Earleywine, from five area Catholic parishes, and Rev. Chris Meester, Dumont Reformed Church.
The conference begins at 9 a.m. at Dows First Lutheran Church and tickets are $25. Tickets can be purchased at www.dowsfirstlutheran.com. Laurel Meester said the idea formed during weekly Bible text studies between the four presenters. The sessions eventually led to a public Bible study and the attendance sparked an idea in Deb Coldiron, a member on the Dows First Lutheran Church board.
“She said it’d be cool if you could use that gift of the four of you together for a conference,” she said. “We took that and ran with it and it was really fun.”
