HAMPTON – When Saturday’s Hampton-Dumont vs. West Fork Coaches vs. Cancer basketball doubleheader commences, emotions may run high for Bulldog junior Charlie Flickinger.

He’ll be thinking about his father, Dr. Richard Flickinger, who passed away from cancer on Oct. 29, 2013.

“It’s going to be rough,” Flickinger admitted. “At first, it’s going to be rough; but it’s a great cause, it really is. That is so much more important than basketball, but I really feel….I don’t know…I guess it’s going to be wait and see.

“There are moments that you think back and it’s just rough, but there’s other moments where you don’t really think about it, but it’s there.”
