Jason Edeker had never flown on a plane before, nor had he ever left the country, or even seen an ocean. His entire life, he had lived in Allison, Iowa, but all that changed for him when he was 21-years-old.
His first trip tying all these “have nots” together wasn’t to the coastal paradise of the Bahamas, or the attraction of California or Florida, nor was it even a personal vacation. Rather, it was a mission trip at the recommendation of his Pastor.
Five years ago, November 2012, Edeker boarded a plane as part of GoServ Global to help build schools, homes and other infrastructure on the impoverished island nation of Haiti.
Now, at 25, Edeker has finished his fourth service trip to Haiti, to the city of Les Cayes, and with the help of GoServ Global, has put up three Sukup Safe T Homes for the natives of the island, returning this month, ready for his trip back next year.
