ACKLEY – There were no secrets when the AGWSR and Grundy Center boys’ basketball teams took the court in a Class 1A District 4 quarterfinal Saturday.

The NICL-West foes split their conference games with each claiming a win on their home court, most recently a 73-71 overtime win by the Cougars. On Saturday it was more than just the home court advantage that gave AGWSR the tie-breaking win and the right to continue down the tournament trail, as the Cougars downed Grundy Center with a big 57-38 win.

The Cougars started strong, leading 12-5 by the end of the first period and 27-15 at the half.
