Latham Hi-Tech Seeds has tabbed an Iowa agribusiness veteran as its new general manager.
Ryan Schon, a Glidden, Iowa native, assumed the position last week. As general manager, Schon said he will help guide teams and assist with the development of long-term visions and strategies in sales and marketing production.
Schon brings with him nearly 20 years of experience in agribusiness, previously serving with Monsanto and Pioneer. After graduating from the Iowa State University agronomy program, Schon obtained a job with Monsanto in Urbandale before moving with the company’s seed operations production to St. Louis. His service with Monsanto eventually led him to Signapore, where he led marketing for the company’s Asia contingent for a year and a half.
After 14 years with Monsanto, Schon took a job with Pioneer, serving on the company’s international agronomy group, which required traveling throughout the world to help build Pioneer’s agronomy capabilities. He would eventually move into Pioneer’s software department, where he helped with new service and business development.
