2nd annual senior center benefit dance set for Nov. 9

The second annual "A Red Carpet Affair," a benefit dance for the Hampton Senior Center, is scheduled for Nov. 9 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Franklin County Convention Center at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.

     Organizers are hoping to top the 250-person attendance mark from the 2012 dance, which was the inaugural event. All the proceeds from the dance are donated to the Hampton Senior Center, which is a non-profit organization that operates primarily off of funds donated from individuals and businesses.

     "We had a fantastic turnout last year," said Dyanne Pralle, one of the members of the dance's organizing committee. "We raised about $3,500 for the senior center. It came out very well. They had a good time and raised money."
