A mix of old faces and new blood will greet local voters when they head to the polls for the Sept. 8 school board election.
Only one competitive race will grace this year’s ballot at Hampton-Dumont. Incumbent board member Stacy Miller will face off against challenger Jenni Swart in the Dumont Director District. Miller, a two-term board member, currently serves as vice president.
Miller was appointed to fill a vacancy on the board in 2006 and has since won two unopposed elections. He works as a technician at Dumont Telephone. He and his wife, Diane, have two daughters. He said he wanted to continue his work on the board and help steer the district to future success, both fiscally and academically.
