DES MOINES – West Fork catcher Clay Emhoff recently was voted to the Class 2A Central District first team by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. Emhoff, a sophomore who batted .430 for the Warhawks, led his team with 34 hits, including eight doubles and five home runs. HAMPTON – Hampton-Dumont’s Shelby Tidman was the lone North Central Conference softball first teamer, announced recently. Tidman, an out-going senior, boasted a batting average of .418 for the Bulldogs and also was a recent all-district selection. She led the team in hits (28) and was tied for second on the team in runs scored (18).

LATIMER – A year after earning first team all-conference as an infielder, CAL senior Austin Guerrero was a first-team utility player on the Iowa Star Conference baseball team, announced recently. GRUNDY CENTER – Host school Grundy Center combined for 11 hits to end the CAL softball team’s season with an 8-0 win over the Cadets on Tuesday, July 7.
