ACKLEY — Nathan Karsjens ran for three touchdowns and threw for two Friday as AGWSR won its first-ever eight-player football game, 55-28, over highly-regarded Colo-Nesco.
The Cougars (1-0) out-gained the Royals by more than 180 yards and forced four turnovers while not turning the ball over itself.

REINBECK – Gladbrook-Reinbeck came back from a set-one loss to post a four-set victory over AGWSR Tuesday in Class 1A, Region 5 first round match.

ACKLEY – Bryce Flater topped 200 yards for the second straight game Friday as Grundy Center opened its Class A, District 4 season with a 21-7 victory over rival AGWSR in Ackley.
The Spartans (2-1 overall) led throughout the game and did not give up a touchdown until late in the game when both teams had reserves on the field.

ACKLEY — AGWSR scored three touchdowns in a four and one-half minute span of the second quarter on Wednesday, Oct. 29 and went on to score a 41-18 victory over Algona Bishop Garrigan in a Class A first-round playoff game.
The Cougars (9-1) faced Nashua-Plainfield in a playoff quarterfinal Monday.
